Introduction
Welcome to Bainbridge College Licensed Practical Nursing Program website. Our program is dedicated to the purpose of meeting the health care needs of the community facilities and residents in our service area by preparing qualified applicants with the ability to pass the licensure examination. All graduates of the program will be theoretically, clinically, ethically, and legally safe entry-level practitioners of licensed practical nursing. The Bainbridge College LPN program curriculum is offered in a sequence that encourages a gradual increase in difficulty level and increased critical thinking skills by the student. The theory and clinical courses are aligned to reiterate the student learning experience through cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning strategies. The students must satisfy learning outcomes and program benchmarks for safe entry-level nursing, and demonstrate competency on the exit exam requirement before graduation from the LPN Program.
This website is not intended to replace the personal attention you deserve in making this very important decision about your education. Please feel free to contact Ms. Annette Higdon, LPN Program Assistant, in the Bainbridge College Technical Studies Division at 229-248-2530. Ms. Higdon will direct your call to the appropriate extension. The LPN Faculty is always glad to provide you with advisement, assistance or answer any questions that you may have.
Beginning Spring 2011, the selection of LPN applicants to begin the program for both main campus and EC site will be made by midterm in the prior semester. This policy change will allow time for the required criminal background check results, selection of the applications, and notification of the accepted and non-accepted before the semester begins. This time will allow students to make final arrangements for child care, job schedules, or change of program courses if needed. It also allows time for faculty and staff to organize required documentation for clinical facilities before the program classes starts the next semester.

Bainbridge College places primary emphasis on excellence in instruction and provides continuous improvement to administrative processes and the education delivery system. The Practical Nursing Program has established collaborative relationships with local health care providers willing to commit to a partnership by welcoming the opportunity for our students to experience externships, internships, clinical rotations and practicum at their facilities. Healthcare education is a highly regulated industry and the LPN Program strives to comply with complex and changing rules, regulations and guidelines. This health care team approach offers refinement of program assessment strategies that provide reliable feedback on institutional effectiveness and educational outcomes to make the nursing student education successful.
